The Dallas Cowboys certainly appear intent on doing something with Amari Cooper and his contract.
Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones was asked whether Cooper would be on the roster in 2022, but he refused to commit either way, per Michael Gehlken.
Jones reportedly said it was “too early for me to address” whether or not Cooper would be with the Cowboys in 2022. The star wide receiver endured a tumultuous 2021 season that saw him sidelined for some key games while he was out with COVID-19 and complaining in the media about a lack of targets.
Cooper signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Cowboys back in 2020. He still has three years remaining on his contract, with a cap hit of $22 million in each of those seasons.
Last season with the Cowboys, Cooper featured in 15 games and caught 68 receptions, the fewest in his tenure with the team, and recorded just 865 yards.
