This is certainly a drastic turn of events.
Josh Brent, the former Cowboys player who once took the life of a teammate in a drunk driving crash, found himself in trouble with the law late last month when video surfaced showing him trying to run away from cops, which caused him to be tased for being uncooperative.
Brent’s latest incident seemed to violate the terms of his parole, which meant he couldn’t possess, drink or buy alcohol. An arrest warrant was issued, however, a judge decided to rescind the warrant. According to DallasNews.com, “court records don’t show why the judge recalled the warrant.”
Calvin Watkins of The Athletic would soon reveal that Brent “tested clean for drugs and alcohol despite the initial report from Coppell PD saying he was intoxicated.” Additionally, the behavior exhibited by Brent was due to what Watkins reports was “a mental breakdown” that he is currently getting treatment for.
