The Dallas Cowboys received a bit of a scare yesterday when it was reported that second-round rookie Sam Williams had been transported to the hospital following a car accident. Thankfully, everyone was okay. And now we have an update from the man himself.
Williams was struck by a Infiniti while driving his Corvette near the Cowboys training facility following their Thursday practice. The early reports indicated that both he and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
Later on that evening, Williams took to Twitter to let everyone know that both he and the other person involved in the two-vehicle accident were okay.
According to the police report, Williams’ Corvette struck the Infiniti as it attempted to make a left-hand turn in front of oncoming traffic. Police are still investigating the accident to determine whether to charge the driver of the Infiniti, but at the moment they’re saying that neither driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Cowboys are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a game that they must win in order to keep their slim hopes at an NFC East title alive. No word yet on whether or not Williams will be able to suit up for that game at AT&T Stadium, but based on his latest update, it seems as though he should be good to go.
