Dallas Cowboys’ rookie running back Deuce Vaughn turned heads on Saturday with an incredible performance in the team’s preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Vaughn was the star of the show for Dallas, finishing the day with 50 rushing yards and a touchdown on just eight carries while also hauling in three catches. The popular NFL Rookie Watch Twitter account shared a video showing some of Vaughn’s slick moves and cuts throughout the contest:
The Kansas State product was drafted in the sixth round (212th overall) by the Cowboys in April. Vaughn surpassed 1,000 yards rushing in each of his final two seasons of college football, racking up 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
Dallas used a two-back system with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard in 2021 and 2022. With Dallas releasing Elliott in a cap-saving move back in March, Vaughn is sure to see his fair share of carries behind Pollard, especially if he continues to shine like this over Dallas’ next two preseason games.
The Cowboys will visit the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday for their next preseason game.
