Free agent safety Earl Thomas had his name trending on social media Sunday during the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks as fans begged the franchise to go out and get him.
Russell Wilson torched the team to the tune of five touchdowns and put their record at 1-2. On Monday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones subtly addressed the possibility when he stated that the team does not have plans to bring in any defensive backs this week.
The former Seahawks and Ravens safety is a seven-time Pro Bowler who has been a free agent for a month.
He has not been signed since the Ravens released him after a physical confrontation with a teammate.
Dallas boasts the No. 7 scoring offense and No. 1 yardage offense in the league, but it means nothing when the defense is currently ranked 30th in points allowed and 25th in yards allowed.
