Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott has the opportunity to join an exclusive NFL club with four all-time greats on Sunday.
As noted by Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, Prescott can become the fifth QB to post a passer rating of 100 or better in eight straight home games when his Cowboys host the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The only other four to achieve that goal? Hall of Famers Brett Favre and Kurt Warner and future Canton members Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.
Since the Cowboys’ embarrassing 42-10 road loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, Prescott has turned in the best football of his career. The 30-year-old has thrown for 272-plus yards in all but one game since the blowout in San Fran, and he’s tossed multiple TD passes in six straight outings.
Furthermore, Prescott has one 400-yard game and three games with four TD passes since Week 5. His Cowboys have also scored 40 or more points in four of their last six contests, including consecutive 45-burgers against Washington and Seattle in Week 12 and 13, respectively.
Prescott is in the running for 2023 MVP honors, with a 70.1 completion percentage and 3,234 passing yards with 26 touchdowns against only six interceptions. Prescott needs just 12 more passing TDs over his final five games to surpass the personal best of 37 he tossed two years ago.
