The Dallas Cowboys are getting ready for a big matchup against the New England Patriots after the team shockingly lost to the Arizona Cardinals last weekend. The team wants to get back to their winning ways but is now worried that former players on the other side could hurt that process.
The team is worried that due to a couple of former Cowboys being on the Patriots, New England will steal their offensive signals.
Ezekiel Elliott has knowledge of the Cowboys offense, but they also have backup quarterback Will Grier who was recently picked up by the Patriots. He spent a significant amount of time with the team before they traded for Trey Lance.
Speaking to the media this week, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was asked about the Patriots’ signing of Grier and former starting running back Ezekiel Elliott. He seemed concerned that Grier and Elliott would give the Patriots the keys to unlocking their offense.
“We know Will knows where a lot of the bones are buried. We know Zeke does as well … I’m sure (Grier) is definitely being interrogated,” offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said.
Two weeks of Dallas dominance came to a stunning end in Week 3. Dak Prescott completed 25 of 40 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown with one interception in Sunday’s 28-16 loss to the Cardinals. His interception might have been his first of the year but it was a backbreaker.

Prescott and the Cowboys were able to move the ball but couldn’t cash in when they got to the red zone, managing only one TD on five trips inside the 20. That will cause you to lose a game every time.
He’ll try to bounce back in Week 4 at home against a stingy Patriots defense that has yet to allow a quarterback to throw for 250 against it this season.
