The Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots are easily two of the most disliked teams in the entire National Football League. The Cowboys are largely disliked because of the ridiculous over-hype every season and the fan base, while the Patriots are disliked for cheating accusations, ref favoritism, the fan base, and they seem to always be in the thick of things to win yet another Super Bowl every year.
Those two teams faced off against each other and they have a lot of eyes on them on this day. The television numbers are in for yesterday’s Cowboys-Patriots game on FOX and they are massive.
The game received a 19.5 overnight rating and a 40 share nationally, which is tied for the highest rating for any regular-season NFL game on any network since 2007 and is also tied for the most-watched Fox broadcast since 1996.
Boston was the top-rated market for Sunday’s game with a 42.6 rating and 67 share. The game got a 32.5/62 in the Dallas market.
Unfortunately for FOX and the NFL, the two teams won’t meet in the regular season again for four years.
