Warning to Twitter trolls: Try not to get into it with Dallas Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons.
Parsons, whom many regard as the front-runner for NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors, is having himself a season with 12 sacks and three forced fumbles. Only Nick Bosa (14.5) and Matthew Judon (13.0) have more sacks thus far than the Penn State product.
On Wednesday morning, Parsons tweeted: “You can always tell the difference of people who watch film and those people who look at stats lol !”. When a troll replied and accused Parsons of padding his stats, the second-year linebacker came back with this epic response:
Game, set and match. Your winner: Mr. Parsons.
Parsons won 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after posting 13 sacks, a trio of pass defenses and three forced fumbles. He headlined a stingy Dallas defense that guided the team to the NFC East division crown last season.
The 2021 first-round pick has been even better in 2022, anchoring the league’s third-best scoring defense which has only allowed 17.2 points per game. The 9-3 Cowboys are currently slotted in the NFC’s top wild card spot, two games behind the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles for the division crown.

If the postseason started today, the Cowboys would get a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are leading the NFC South despite a mediocre 6-6 record. The Bucs beat Dallas 19-3 in Week 1, but of course, Dallas didn’t have key contributors in offensive lineman Tyron Smith or wide receiver Michael Gallup.
The Cowboys have only lost two games since that Week 1 meeting, and the Bucs have gone just 5-6, though they were very fortunate to not have fallen 5-7 this week.
Dallas is coming off a 54-19 demolishing of the Indianapolis Colts, having racked up 33 points in the fourth quarter to pull away with a third straight win. Up next, America’s Team will try to make it four in a row when they host the NFL’s worst team in the Houston Texans on Sunday.
