The NFL is yet again cracking down on roughing the passer calls this 2022 season. Fans are getting a taste of what’s to come.
Dallas Cowboys rookie pass-rush Sam Williams found himself on the wrong side of the call. Williams, selected in the second round of the 2022 draft out of Mississippi, showed his quickness getting out of the pocket on Saturday night as the Cowboys faced the Denver Broncos.
Denver quarterback Brett Rypien broke out of the pocket and Williams caught up to him and put him on the ground as he released the ball.
The second-round pick out of Mississippi was flagged for roughing the passer.
Mike Mccarthy was not happy about it.

If this is the type of flag we will be seeing in 2022, it’s gonna make for much longer games as well as these contests being decided by many flags.
