The Dallas Cowboys have been encouraged to seek a move for a “power rusher” to replace running back Tony Pollard.
The Cowboys might be ready to move on from the 2022 Pro Bowler soon, and Bleacher Report has named Chicago Bears RB D’Onta Foreman as a replacement candidate given that he will be a free agent in the 2024 offseason.
Dallas could be forced to go after alternatives as both Pollard and his backup, Rico Dowdle, are set to hit free agency in the next offseason and, the way BR sees it, Foreman could be the optimal fit.
The 27-year-old is a formidable power rusher and would slot in as a great piece for a team having difficulty in short-yardage situations in the red zone.
Foreman would also present good value for money. He’s playing as a backup in Chicago and is signed to a one-year, $2 million deal. Sportrac puts his market value for next season at $2.8 million.
The former Longhorns star has 65 carries for 287 yards on 4.4 yards per carry so far this season. He rushed for 87 yards on 5.6 yards per carry, adding two scores off the run and another receiving in a win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, having come in for injured backs Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson.
