On Wednesday morning, Daniel Ross was arrested and is now set to face drug and gun charges as a result.
Ross, a backup defensive lineman for the Cowboys, has not played in a game this season.
The Dallas Morning News explains what happens:
“Dallas Cowboys lineman Daniel Ross was arrested Wednesday morning after Frisco police found him with marijuana and a gun during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Ross, 26, faces charges of possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon, Frisco police spokesman Evan Mattei said. He did not disclose details about the traffic stop that led to the arrest.”
After starting his career in the CFL and hopping around on various practice squads, the Cowboys would eventually sign him to the roster. He played just three games during his 1st year with the team, racking up five tackles and a sack. In 2018, he stepped it up a notch by getting 14 tackles (three for loss), a sack, and one forced fumble and fumble recovery on the year.
Ross was placed on the injured reserve with a shoulder issue back in late August.
