Damontae Kazee probably thought naming two prominent players on the Dallas Cowboys would get him out of trouble, but it did not work during his DWI arrest.
Last month, the 28-year-old was pulled over for a traffic violation but ultimately arrested and charged with driving while under the influence. TMZ has since obtained video of the situation that showed the safety name dropping Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott after he was asked where he was coming from.
Kazee, who just signed with the Cowboys this offseason, told the officer he had “probably like three shots.”
“I was just with Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott and we were just having fun — went out,” Kazee told the cop.
Kazee was put through some field sobriety tests and he did not pass those test at all. He struggled to count backwards and couldn’t walk a straight line.
Days after the arrest, he addressed the situation, saying, “I apologized to my family, my teammates, my coaches and to the owner, who gave me a job.”

“I’m happy the Lord helped me get out,” he said, adding that he’d “deal with” any punishment the NFL levied on him over it all. “I didn’t hit nobody, I didn’t hurt myself. Just thankful I’m here now.”
In nine games played for the team, Kazee has recorded 27 tackles and one interception.
