A fascinating blockbuster trade proposal has the Dallas Cowboys trading Dak Prescott and moving up in the draft to find No. 4’s replacement.
At Cowboys Wire, K.D. Drummond proposed a mammoth three-team trade idea involving the Cowboys, New England Patriots and Chicago Bears. Drummond’s proposal has New England landing the No. 1 pick from Chicago in exchange for the No. 3 and No. 68 picks along with 2025 first and fourth-rounders.
The Cowboys would then flip Prescott to Chicago for the No. 9 pick, the 2025 first-rounder the Bears got from New England and a 2025 third-round selection. And then with the No. 9 pick, the Cowboys would take LSU QB Jayden Daniels:
“Adding Daniels to sit for a year behind Justin Fields and Trey Lance. Dallas carries three quarterbacks and will look to put the fifth-year option on both of the young veterans. That locks in control for two seasons giving Dallas the ultimate flexibility to player anyone and recoup future trade assets in case either of them show promise.”
It’s certainly an enticing trade proposal that works for all three parties for a variety of reasons.
Dallas would have a brand new young QB to build around following another disappointing playoff performance under Prescott. Chicago can use some of that draft capital to secure extra picks and a Pro Bowl-caliber QB in Prescott, while the Patriots can move up and take a franchise signal-caller like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
