The Dallas Cowboys are likely to part ways with Ezekiel Elliott after seven seasons, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Josina Anderson later added there was a “high likelihood” he would be cut coming soon.
The Cowboys are also reportedly expected to designate Elliott a post-June 1 cut and save $10.9 million in cap space with the move.
Cutting Elliott would end the three-time Pro Bowl running back’s era in Dallas. As hard as it is to believe, Zeke is only 27 years old, but the wear and tear on his body have been evident over the past few years.
There had been reports that Dallas could ask Elliott to take a significant pay cut, which he would have had to agree to in order to stay with the Cowboys.
