Antwaun Woods used to have a lot of love for Chad Wheeler, but that as well as his friendship are now over after what he allegedly did to his girlfriend.
The 27-year-old Wheeler was arrested Saturday after he reportedly threw his girlfriend on a bed and choked her until she was unconscious. When the woman woke up, Wheeler allegedly said, “Wow, you’re alive?”
Cowboys nose tackle Antwaun Woods took to Twitter on Wednesday and called out his former teammate and friend:
“As a former teammate/ friends of Chad’s I’m lost & confused! Any “man” that puts his hands on a woman is a COWARD and don’t let me catch you doing it! Basically Chad I used to love you but now I need a fade.” The woman told officers the assault began after Wheeler told the woman to bow to him.
Wheeler sent out tweets Wednesday apologizing for his actions and announcing he’s stepping away from football.
“Events happened over the weekend that transpired from a manic episode. I am deeply sorry for the pain and suffering that I have caused to [the victim] and her family.
“I apologize profusely for the turmoil that I have caused to my family, teammates, fans and those closest to me. The most important thing right now is that [the victim] gets the care she needs and I get help. Both are happening.
“It is time for me to walk away from football and get the help I need to never again pose a threat to another. I cannot express my sorrow or remorse enough. I am truly ashamed.”

In the midst of choking his girlfriend, Wheeler allegedly used one hand to cover the woman’s nose and mouth to stop her from breathing while continuing to choke her with his other hand.
Wheeler was jailed Monday night and held on $400,000 bond, but would get released the following day.
