A blockbuster trade proposal has the Houston Texans landing another star to help rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and the dynamic receiving duo of Tank Dell and Nico Collins.
The Texans have exceeded expectations in the early going with a 3-3 record, having already matched last year’s win total. Stroud is off to a tremendous start with nine touchdowns against only one interception, and Dell (324 receiving yards) and Collins (547 receiving yards) are both on pace to put up over 1,000 yards receiving.
If the Texans want to buy ahead of next Tuesday’s trade deadline, they should target another receiver to help the Stroud-led offense.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has Houston landing standout receiver Courtland Sutton from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick:
“Houston already has surprisingly splashy targets for young QB C.J. Stroud in Nico Collins and Tank Dell, but the latter’s battling injuries. Sutton is a proven possession target who should be for sale in Denver, where Sean Payton could use all the draft capital he can get. He’s pricey on a contract that runs through 2025, but maybe the Broncos would eat salary.”
The 28-year-old Sutton and fellow Broncos wideout Jerry Jeudy have been widely mentioned in the trade rumor mill this year. With Denver sitting at 2-5 entering Week 8, GM George Paton is widely expected to be a seller at the deadline.

Sutton and Jeudy are two of Denver’s top trade chips, and Houston should definitely have interest in adding one of them. Sutton has 31 catches for 351 yards and five touchdowns, putting him on pace for over 800 receiving yards.
Sutton had his best season back in 2019, when he hauled in 72 catches for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns. His second-best season was last year, where Sutton had 64 catches for 829 yards and two touchdowns.
Stroud and the Texans will try to improve to 4-3 when they visit the winless Carolina Panthers this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
