A blockbuster trade proposal has a top AFC heavyweight landing Los Angeles Rams’ superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
The Rams haven’t outright stated that they’re shopping Kupp. But after trading away All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason, it feels as though nobody is untouchable on the Rams.
At FanSided’s BuffaLowDown page, Bills’ writer Brandon Croce proposed the idea of the AFC East club trading for the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year:
“The Los Angeles Rams are in a weird situation where they can’t afford to rebuild because they have traded a majority of their high draft picks for the foreseeable future. They also have lost veterans like Jalen Ramsey and Bobby Wagner.
The Rams are an older team and their Super Bowl window is probably closing, if not already closed. If the Rams decide in the season that this isn’t going to be their year, they have two players that would generate alot of interest and the Buffalo Bills should be interested in both…
At only 30 years old, he still has a few good years ahead of him and he would be a perfect fit in this offense. Kupp is primarily a slot receiver and has some of the best hands in the league. It would drastically improve the wide receiver position and give the Bills the best group of pass catchers in the league.”
Under general manager Les Snead, the Rams have consistently ran the “win-now” approach. It culminated in two NFC Championships (2018 and 2021) and a Super Bowl 56 title.
But with the Rams lacking draft capital during their all-in approach, the long-term outlook for the organization isn’t exactly promising. As such, it would make sense to sell off some veterans like Kupp for young assets.

At this time, however, the Rams seem keen on trying to rebound from a disappointing 5-12 season. They’ve retained Kupp, future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald and veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, after all.
But if the Rams end up making Kupp available, a team in win-now mode like the Bills should be keen on exploring a trade. The Bills need a WR2 to complement Stefon Diggs, and the Super Bowl 56 MVP would perfectly fill the void there.
For his career, Kupp has 508 receptions for 6,329 yards and 46 touchdowns. He won the 2021 “Triple Crown” for wide receivers by leading the league in catches (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16).
