The Los Angeles Rams will be without wide receiver Cooper Kupp when they face the Seattle Seahawks in their first game of the season.
The player has officially been ruled out by head coach Sean McVay, having suffered a hamstring injury during training camp several weeks ago.
Kupp, the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP, tried making a return late last month but aggravated the problem and was forced to visit a specialist this week. This leaves the Rams without their top pass catcher for the Week 1 matchup and, according to McVay, there’s a possibility he gets placed on the injured reserve, something that would leave him unavailable in the long term.
The likes of Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson, and rookie Puka Nacua are now set to be thrust into bigger roles.
Kupp has made more catches and logged more receiving yards than the rest of the players in the Rams receiving group put together.

Robinson is the most experienced among the ones mentioned, having played alongside both Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. But he has so far failed to establish himself as a consistent offensive threat.
