Urban Meyer couldn’t be more embarrasing to the Jacksonville Jags franchise if he tried.
Meyer was so out of touch during the 20-0 loss to the Tennessee Titans that he had no clue Andre Cisco wasn’t part of his team’s defensive game plan this week. A third-round pick out of Syracuse, Cisco had a tackle and forced fumble on 17 special teams snaps on Sunday, but he wasn’t on the field for a single defensive snap.
When Meyer was asked today about getting Cisco some more playing time, he responded by saying he thought the rookie safety was “playing a bit more.”
Again, Cisco didn’t play one snap on defense Sunday, which begs the question: What game is Meyer watching every Sunday?
Last week, Meyer explained that he doesn’t ‘get too involved’ with the running back rotation when questions rose about the usage of James Robinson. It’s clear he doesn’t get involved with his defense either.

A bad season for Urban Meyer just seems to be getting even worst each week.
The Jaguars lost their fifth straight overall, eighth straight in Nashville, ninth consecutive within the AFC South, and 15th in a row on the road this past Sunday. They have just one winning season in the last 14 years, and that’s not likely to change with Meyer at the helm.
It’s remarkable to think that this was the same franchise that was in the AFC Championship game just a few seasons ago.
