It’s the NFL’s version of the final four, and the winners of this weekends Conference Championship games will go on to play in Super Bowl LVII. The Philadelphia Eagles (15-3) and the Kansas City Chiefs (15-3) will be the home teams. The San Francisco 49ers, led by third string quarterback wonder Brock Purdy, will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the NFC Championship. The Cincinnati Bengals will play the Kansas City Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the AFC Championship. Let’s dive into the latest Conference Championship Injury Report.
Bengals vs Chiefs AFC Championship Injury Report
The Cincinati Bengals will be in Kansas City to play the Chiefs for the AFC Championship game on Sunday. Today it was announced that the Chiefs waived defensive back Chris Lammons, and that the Bengals claimed him off of waivers. The Chiefs likely waived Lammons to create a roster spot for either Jody Fortson or Clyde Edwards-Helaire, which would definitely help out their offense, with a potentially injured Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes Update
Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury in the Divisional playoff game when a player rolled on his leg, everting his ankle. He was visibly shaken up and was limping significantly for about 10 minutes after the injury. Chad Henne was able to step up and help lead the Chiefs on a 98-yard drive for a touchdown. Mahomes returned and was definitely hurting throughout the rest of his time on the field.
Andy Reid told reports that Mahomes has “worked hard on the treatment and is doing OK.” When asked if Patrick Mahomes will play this weekend, Reid gave an undoubtable “he’s gonna play”. So he will play, but the question is how well?
Mecole Hardman Update
Still no official updates on whether or not Mecole Hardman will play on Sunday. He has not played in a game since Week 9, and the Chiefs have made it this far without him. There is definitely a chance that he could play this weekend, and seeing how he holds up in practice this week will give us a better idea of his status.
Jonah Williams Update
Jonah Williams is currently sidelined with a knee injury after dislocating his knee cap in the Wild Card win. A dislocated knee cap usually takes a while to fully heal, but apparently he has played through this injury in the past. Staff are saying that both he and Cappa are “improving daily”. Let’s keep an eye on his practice status this week.

Alex Cappa Update
Alex Cappa suffered an ankle injury in Week 18 that has kept him sidelined since. He has been speculated as an AFC title game or Super Bowl returner, but he was wearing a boot on Sunday in Buffalo.
Trey Hendrickson Update
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson had an x-ray after the game on Sunday but it game out negative. He should be good to to this weekend against the Chiefs, but may be limited in practice this week to keep him healthy.
Tre Flowers Update
Backup cornerback Tre Flowers was ruled inactive for last weeks game against the Bills due to a lingering hamstring injury. We will need to keep an eye on him this week to get a better idea of what his status is.
49ers vs Eagles NFC Championship Injury Report
As of Tuesday, the 49ers don’t have many injury updates. Getting through the postseason with only a handful of injuries is huge for the 49ers who have been plagued with injuries all season. McCaffrey, Mitchell and Omenihu have been described as day-to-day by coach Kyle Shanahan, but he is expecting all three to be available for Sunday.
Christian McCaffery Update
The 49ers running back is still dealing with a calf contusion that is putting his status as day-to-day. His snaps were limited late in the game after the injury, and he was seen on the sideline having his calf worked on in the fourth quarter. Christian was quoted as saying the injury was “nothing bad.”
Charles Omenihu Update
Defensive end Charles Omenihu suffered an oblique injury in the first quarter last weekend, but was able to re-enter the game. He was also booked at the Santa Clara County jail on Monday and was released after he posted bail. A woman alleged that Omenihu pushed her to the ground during an argument. At this time we are unsure of how his injury and this incident will affect his playing time on Sunday.
Elijah Mitchell Update
Elijah Mitchell is day-to-day with a groin injury, but is expected to play in the NFC Championship game. He should have a sizable role considering McCaffrey is pretty much in the same boat as him, as far as injuries go.
AJ Brown Update
A.J. Brown was in some pain late in the Eagles win over the Giants, and was seen limping around after tweaking his left hip. Coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that he was going through some pain, but they feel like he will be okay to play this weekend.
Avonte Maddox Update
Avonte Maddox is really the only player on the Eagles active roster that has some uncertainty this week. He has missed the last four games with a toe injury, but coach Nick Sirianni is hopeful that he will do well in practice this week to be confident enough to play him on Sunday. He is still unknown, but there is a chance.
