The biggest story of the NFL season at this very moment should be the teams that are actually going to play in the postseason in a few days, but that is not the case.
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown’s name has been trending for the last 24 hours after a scathing report revealed he actually missed a crucial Week 17 game vs. the Bengals, not because he was hurt, but because he had been skipping practices and getting into it with Ben Roethlisberger.
That set up a perfect storm for trolls to make their move on social media.
Complex, the pop culture media outlet, immediately jumped on a story that Brown had requested to be traded amid the controversy of his team. The problem with that story is that they used a fake Adam Schefter account in their published piece.
Even though they used a fake source, there was plenty of buzz around the net showing that Brown actually requested, not demanded, to be traded from the team.
Not to mention, he had an interaction with San Francisco 49ers player George Kittle that had Steelers fan heated that he was showing interest in joining their team.
