On Sunday, the Cowboys and Dak Prescott got throttled by the New Orleans Saints at their first home game of the year. The final score was 44-19, and neither the team nor fans could catch a brake both on the field and on social media.
Before the game, @NFLonFOX posted a photo of Dak Prescott walking into the stadium with the caption, “Cowboy Dak is in the building. Saints may be in trouble.”
It didn’t take long for a community note, reading “The Saints were not in trouble,” to be added.
For Dak specifically, it was a really bad game. He completed 27 of 39 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown, which sounds amazing until you also read the two interceptions.
It was certainly a fall from grace after Dak and the Cowboys looked to be lethal in their Week 1 game against the Browns, coming away with a 33-17 win.

Dallas might struggle to bounce back in Week 3, as they’re set to host the Baltimore Ravens, who are always dangerous. However, it’s worth noting that Baltimore lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.
Dak Prescott Recently Earned A Record-Breaking Deal
In a surprising move, the Cowboys signed Prescott to a record-breaking deal just before their Week 1 game.
It was a four-year $240 million deal with a whopping $231 million guaranteed. Now, with an annual salary of $60 million, it shatters Joe Burrow’s previous record of earning $55 million.
After Prescott led the league in passing touchdowns in 2023, it’s obvious that Dallas wanted to lock him up before he became more expensive.
Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, though, as of two weeks into the season, it doesn’t feel like Dak has earned all the money he’s now making.
