This is simply amazing.
It was less than a month ago when many believed that Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. would be lost for the season after it was reported that he was shot multiple times during an armed robbery.
Thankfully, it was reported days later that Robinson was very fortunate to escape any serious, career-threatening injuries from the car-jacking. In fact, there was a strong belief that he would be able to return in time to take part in his rookie season in 2022.
And now, it appears as though we could be seeing Robinson on the field as soon as he’s eligible to come off the injured reserve in week 5.
Prior to today’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, cameras spotted Robinson on the field at FedEx, running routes and looking awfully healthy while doing so.

This is great news for the Commanders and their fans, who have been hoping to get a little more from their rather uninspiring run game. Right now, it’s Antonio Gibson manning the starting duties, but many believe he’s more suited in a gadget, versatile role as a runner and a receiver.
As for Robinson, his giant frame and brutish running style seems to be more of what the Commanders are looking for from their starting running back. When he returns to action, don’t be surprised if he immediately takes over the lead role on early downs, much to the chagrin of Gibson’s fantasy football owners.
The Commanders take on the undefeated Eagles in an NFC East battle today. They’re coming off a road loss to the Lions, during which they scored 27 points, but allowed 36. Needless to say, we could be in for a shootout at FedEx Field today.
