This weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live didn’t have many good moments, but there was one moment that went viral.
Shane Gillis — who was fired by ‘SNL’ before his first show for ‘offensive comments’ — returns to host with 21 Savage as the musical guest.
Following a rough start with his monologue, the comedian got some laughs throughout the show during some of his sketches and spoof ads.
In a spoof ad, Gillis pitched the betting platform Rock Bottom Kings, which instead of placing bets on sports, allowed users to bet on how low their friends’ lives could sink.
Gillis, Kenan Thompson, and Marcello Hernandez play spokespeople for the service.

“You’re not a loser — your friend is,” Gillis declares at sketch’s end.
Gillis, the wildly popular co-host of Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, returned to the show as its host five years after he was fired from the cast. In 2019, the 36-year-old was abruptly sacked when racist and homophobic jokes he made on his show resurfaced.
Gillis has found success on his own in the past few years.
He released a stand-up special on YouTube in 2021, which has received well over 23 million views. He also landed a Netflix special titled “Beautiful Dogs,” which was released last year.
