It appears as though the Indianapolis Colts intend on going from one mediocre quarterback to another.
Moments ago it was reported that Indy had dealt Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for a package of draft picks that included at least two third-round picks. It was decent compensation for a player whose contract they were desperately trying to unload, even though they gave up a first round pick to acquire Wentz just one year ago.
That moves leaves a vacancy at quarterback for the Colts, and reports are swirling that they may be looking to fill it with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
The Colts are just the latest team to express interest in Jimmy G, as he’s also been connected to the Steelers.
Indianapolis, of course, has some recent experience dealing with the Niners, as they gave them a first round pick for Deforest Buckner just two offseasons ago. Let’s see if they can get yet another offseason deal done for a former 49er.
