The Indianapolis Colts saw Anthony Richardson practice this Friday and wasted no time releasing their veteran quarterback.
The team has announced that they’ve released Nick Foles following their acquisition of the QB as a free agent last May.
Foles, who won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, had played for the Jacksonville and Chicago Bears before joining the Colts just under a year ago. He played in three games last season, passing for 224 yards but no touchdowns.
Richardson, meanwhile, was acquired by the Colts during last week’s draft, with the team bringing him in as the No. 4 overall pick. The QB has been on a remarkable upward trend since his outing at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this year.
While the Carolina Panthers have indicated that the No. 1 overall pick, Bryce Young, won’t be starting immediately, it appears Anthony is set to begin 2023 as the Colts’ main man.
