Anthony Richardson thinks playing in the NFL is easier than playing in college, and we think you should hear him out.
The Indianapolis Colts quarterback was by no means throwing shade at the league in stating he feels it’s less difficult than NCAA football.
Richardson, who spent most of his rookie season sidelined with a shoulder injury, will be looking to make his mark in the pros in 2024. And, the way he puts it, he stands a better advantage as he doesn’t have to worry about anyone failing to give it their all.
The former Florida star was interviewed on the Club 520 podcast this week when he made the assertion.
“The old me, I used to always try to be Superman,” he began. “I’m trying to make every play. Every play I make has got to be a big play.”
“Playing in the NFL, I feel like, is easier than college. In college, you’ve got players that are good – and they know they’re good – but they’re not as confident,” Richardson explained. “They’ve got to rely on other players… In the league, everybody’s trying to work to stay in the league. They’re trying to keep their job and everybody’s trying to ball out.
“That let me know that I don’t have to do too much. I’ve got to do my job, and he’s got to do his job, and it’s going to work.”

Anthony Richardson Still Needed To Adjust To The Pace Of The NFL
For Anthony Richarson, playing with more talent around him makes his job easier. But he did admit there was a learning curve.
“My first practice with the vets, I threw like three interceptions – these dudes are fast! I had to get my mind right, but it didn’t take too long [to adjust to the game speed],” he said.
The Colts QB probably won’t find many people who agree with him. But speaking from his personal experience, it’s not hard to see where he’s coming from.
He did try to do too much while playing with the Gators and got into trouble on more than a few occasions. He claims to be way more relaxed now.
