Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has threatened to sue ESPN’s ‘First Take’ and Stephen A. Smith over comments made this week.
Irsay took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in a shocking rant that saw him hit out at the show, as well as Kimberly Martin, who is a regular feature on the program.
This all stems from comments the Colts owner made about his arrest in 2014, when police pulled Irsay over and found several medicine bottles. He would get hit with a Class C misdemeanor charge, while the NFL suspended him for six games.
Speaking in an interview with Andrea Kremer on ‘Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel’ on Wednesday, Irsay claimed he could walk straight for a field sobriety test due to a hip surgery he’d just had.
“I am prejudiced because I am a rich, white billionaire. If I’m just an average guy down the block, they’re not pulling me in, of course not,” he added.
Of course, Smith had a bit to say about that.
“Because he thinks about himself. He doesn’t think about anything else. He just thinks about himself ’cause he’s an entitled old brat. That’s what it really comes down to,” the ‘First Take’ host asserted.
“And in the end, he’s lucky that he’s a National Football League owner because they print money for crying out loud. You’ve got to be the stupidest person in the world to not make money as an NFL owner in this day and age. If he were an NBA owner, I assure you it would be a problem because you’d have an abundance of players that would look at him with utter disgust.”

Irsay would hop on the aforementioned platform to fire back:
While Irsay is often criticized and has made the news in controversial fashion at various points, he is also known for his generosity, though not to Jonathan Taylor. Just last month, he gave thousands of dollars to hotel workers in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was also willing to spend millions to fly a whale around the country before it died.
