Carson Wentz is certainly excited to be out of Philly and ready for his new team.
Mere hours after being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Indianapolis Colts, the happy QB jumped on a plane and headed for Indy. The Colts gave the Eagles a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft that could turn into a first round pick based on playing time and accomplishments.
The trade between the Colts and Eagles for Wentz does not become official until the start of the new league year in mid-March, but that did not stop Wentz from contacting Julian Blackmon.
The Colts safety shared a text message that he received from Wentz:
“Julian! Carson Wentz here. Just wanted to reach out and let you know I’m fired up to compete with you man. You’re a heck of a player and I look forward to our battles in practice!! Reach out anytime and I look forward to meeting soon.” Wentz texted Blackmon.

Carson Wentz was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, who was instrumental in the team getting their first ever Super Bowl, despite him getting injured and missing the rest of the season.
Everything fell apart in 2020 for Wentz as he found himself being benched for rookie QB Jalen Hurts and never getting his starting job back.
The team finished 4-11-1 and head coach Doug Pederson was fired.
