The Indianapolis Colts will debut fresh alternate jerseys when they line up against the Cleveland Browns at the Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, having announced their “Indiana Nights” threads via social media this Wednesday.
The Colts had already unveiled the new look in July and, according to their website, got the inspiration from the “blue and black of the Indiana night skies.”
Owner Jim Irsay’s family is said to have played a major role in the uniform’s design.
“Mr. Irsay has three daughters who are very involved as well, so it was very much a group decision and a group process,” vice president of marketing for the team, Stephanie Pemberton, said in a press release. And it was a fun thing to work on. We got a lot of input from a lot of different folks from across the organization.”
The black helmets shown above will be a first for the Colts in terms of their color.
The new gear is already available for purchase online and at the Colts’ Pro Shop at their home stadium.
