NFL fans are going in on the Arizona Cardinals, accusing the NFC West side of tanking following one of their most recent roster moves.
There’s little doubt the Cards will have the worst record in 2023 after going 4-13 last season. That Kyler Murray isn’t going to be ready to start the campaign while DeAndre Hopkins has moved on doesn’t help their prospects.
On Monday, it was announced that Murray would remain on the PUP list, which means he will be out for at least the four first games of the upcoming term.
Of course, he could be out for much longer, so that shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise. But the same announcement revealed that the Cards are also releasing backup quarterback Colt McCoy.
McCoy was expected to be Arizona’s starter in 2023 yet it appears that Josh Dobbs, who was just acquired from the Cleveland Browns via trade, will be QB1. Dobbs and Clayton Tune are the only quarterbacks in the room at the moment.
So, yeah, the word “taking” was always going to come up.
