Back in December, Colin Kaepernick’s name was tearing up the headlines after his scheduled workout in front of NFL teams basically turned into a circus show and no team showed any interest in actually signing him.
He has pretty much been out of the headlines for all of 2020 due to the coronavirus and football season being in the offseason. That changed this week when a fake report surfaced of him signing a 1-year deal with the New York Jets, yet, social media ate it up and thought it was real.
After that, it would be verified by TMZ Sports that his team would actually be contacting the Jets for a potential spot, despite the fake report.
Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab, would then take to Twitter and demand team owners and the NFL to stop blackballing him and put him on a team.
“[The Jets] should sign Colin Kaepernick,” Diab said on Twitter. “Any team that actually wants to win should sign Colin. He still continues to train & as you all saw @ his workout, HE’S BEEN READY W HIS ‘ELITE ARM STRENGTH,’ as an NFL scout said. Team Owners/ NFL can stop blackballing him @ anytime.”
Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in the league since 2016, threw for 16 touchdowns to just four interceptions during his final year as a starter.
