Colin Kaepernick is been a lot over the past week or so, especially when he posted an insane workout video to show NFL teams he is “still ready” to make a comeback to any team that is willing to give him another shot.
On Wednesday, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback took to social media and posted a powerful video that marked the three-year anniversary of his first protest.
“I continue to work and stand with the people in our fight for liberation, despite those who are trying to erase the movement,” he said in the caption. “The movement has always lived with the people!”
It was back in 2016 when Colin Kaepernick first gained national attention when he was viewed sitting during the National Anthem, ultimately changing it to kneeling for the remainder of the season.
When he revealed that he was doing it to protest police brutality and racial inequality, he received a firestorm of criticism and hasn’t played a single down of NFL football since the end of the 2016 season.
He later filed a grievance with Eric Reid against the NFL for collusion, with both sides reaching an agreement on a settlement in February 2019.
