Colin Kaepernick has sent a letter to the New York Jets, asking the struggling AFC East club to sign him to their practice squad.
Rapper J. Cole, a close friend of Kaepernick’s, shared the letter that the 35-year-old wrote to Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas. In the letter, Kaepernick requests that he join the practice squad and help address the team’s “depth issues at the position.”
At the end of the letter, Kaepernick lists Jim Harbaugh, John Harbaugh, Chip Kelly and Mark Davis as his references. Jim coached Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014, and Kelly was the clubs’ HC in the 206 season.

Kaepernick wasn’t intimidated by the death threats that he subsequently received, and he continued to kneel during the national anthem throughout the remainder of the year.
