Nessa Diab has never been shy about speaking out when it comes to her man and the father of her child.
This week, it was revealed that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be on the cover of GQ Germany for its March issue.
“From football star to global icon for human rights,” GQ Germany wrote. “For the March issue of GQ, the cover star looks back on his knee fall and the aftermath.”
Kaepernick’s longtime girlfriend, Nessa Diab, took to Instagram to post about his accomplishments but to also call out his own country for not appreciating him.
“So thankful. So grateful. There’s something special about Colin being loved and appreciated,” she wrote on Instagram. “Colin never seeks it or wants the acknowledgment IYKYK. I have to literally BEG him to accept any award or recognition.
“It’s also bitter sweet when globally Colin is loved and appreciated. Here, I don’t feel he’s ever fully appreciated. Maybe I’m in my head. Hell, he’s STILL blackballed from his hard earned career by that organization for protesting against police violence. From the blackballing to the co-opting, to all of it, it’ll never sit right with me.”
“I guess that’s how the cookie crumbles,” she continued. “I told myself to stop focusing on the people who aren’t on the journey for the long run and just focus on who is here. Focusing on the now and focusing and whoever loves Colin and most importantly, appreciating his stance. For everyone who is still with Colin. I’m with you and always will be.”

Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab were first romantically linked in 2015 and welcomed a child together in 2022.
Together, they founded the nonprofit organization Know Your Rights Camp to support Black and Brown communities, as well as Ra Vision Media — a media company that showcases the talents of Black and Brown professionals.
She has been outspoken about him being blackballed by the National Football League and she will never be quiet about it.
Diab is the daughter of Egyptian parents who emigrated to the United States before she was born. She was raised in Southern California but spent a lot of time in Saudi Arabia when her father was transferred there for work.
Colin Kaepernick is still holding out hope that he will play quarterback in the NFL again one day.
NFL teams have avoided signing the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback since he began protesting racial injustice in 2016. Now seven years removed from being an NFL quarterback, his chances of returning to the league are quickly evaporating.
In six years with the Niners he had 12,271 yards passing with 72 touchdowns and 30 picks. He also picked up 2,300 yards rushing with 13 additional scores.
