Civil rights activist and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is going insanely viral this week with one video, but not for the reason you’d expect.
A video is gaining a ton of traction online showing the former QB and how he felt about the National Football League back in October as opposed to how he feels now as he tries to get signed by a team.
In the 2021 Netflix series Colin in Black & White, Kaepernick compared playing in the NFL to slavery.
“What they don’t want you to understand is what’s being established is a power dynamic. Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you. Searching for any defect that might affect your performance. No boundary respected. No dignity left intact,” Kaepernick said.
Kaepernick rose to prominence during the 2016 season after kneeling during pre-game national anthem performances to protest police brutality and systemic racism.

Over the weekend, Kaepernick threw to undrafted receivers at halftime of Michigan’s spring game for NFL scouts after being invited by coach Jim Harbaugh, who mentored Kaepernick with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kaepernick said he still believes he can make a team better and help a team win games. NFL reporter Josina Anderson reported on Friday that Kaepernick is open to accepting a backup role if that’s what it takes to facilitate a return to the NFL.
