Football fans are roasting FS1’s Colin Cowherd following a brutal take from last year that simply hasn’t aged well.
On a 2022 edition of his show, Cowherd held a segment where he simply answered if he’d rather have Miami Dolphins’ signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa or another quarterback over the next three years.
As you can see in the video below, Cowherd chose the likes of Baker Mayfield, Matt Ryan, Daniel Jones, Trey Lance and even Sam Darnold over Tagovailoa. Among six five QBs, only Tagovailoa is an MVP candidate with a 71.3 completion percentage, 1,024 passing yards and eight touchdowns with only two interceptions.
Mayfield is on his third team in two seasons. Ryan is working in the broadcast booth on CBS after going unsigned this past offseason. Jones isn’t exactly lighting it up with two touchdowns and four picks in three games. Darnold is backing up Brock Purdy in San Francisco. Speaking of the 49ers, they just traded Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys.
So yes, social media had a grand time poking fun at Cowherd’s awful take that has aged worse than milk:

Tagovailoa wasn’t exactly dominant in his first two seasons, but Cowherd choosing Darnold, Mayfield and Jones (with more games under their belts up to that point of the segment) was certainly something.
And now Tua is having all the laughs with a MVP-like campaign and perfect record heading into Week 4.
