Colin Cowherd and Baker Mayfield have a rocky history that has led to back and forth interactions on Twitter and a face-to-face interview on the set of ‘The Herd.’
Following the win against the Clemson Tigers on Monday night to win the National Title, Colin Cowherd took to his show the next day and talked about how Baker Mayfield could be in some serious trouble with Burrow likely heading to the division.
“The loser last night is Baker Mayfield. … This year, the AFC North was wide open,” Cowherd said on The Herd Tuesday morning. “Lamar was still a baby. Big Ben got hurt and the Bengals were playing Ryan Finley. But Baker was doing 26 commercials and was simply not mature enough to take it over. Now, Joe Burrow enters the division … and Baker’s now suddenly the fourth best quarterback in that division.”
The Bengals have the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and they are expected to take Joe Burrow. That means a division with Bengals’ Joe Burrow, Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger, Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson and Cleveland’s Baker Mayfield.
You can fully expect Mayfield to hit back at Cowherd as he seemingly always does.
