Colin Cowherd took to predicting every NFL record for the 2023 season but he has many shocked about what he said about the Chicago Bears.
On Thursday’s edition of The Herd, Cowherd explained why the 2023 Bears should absolutely find themselves in the postseason. If that happens, it will be the first time the team has been there since 2020.
“This should be a playoff team,” Cowherd boldly stated.
The Bears are coming off a season where they recorded the worst record in the NFL which got them the number one pick in the draft, which they traded to the Carolina Panthers for a slew of future selections and wide receiver DJ Moore.
Nevertheless, the Bears’ offseason additions add logic to the idea of the Bears improving next season.
Aside from draft moves, the Bears have bolstered their linebacker core with T.J. Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds. The other big signing they landed was starting right guard Nate Davis who inked a three-year deal.

The Bears’ quarterbacks room also looks a bit different this year. Fields and Nathan Peterman have returned, but Chicago has a new backup after adding P.J. Walker in free agency.
Despite the Bears going 3–14, Fields threw for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and rushed for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games played.
He will need to be just as dynamic if the Bears have any hope of getting out of the basement of the NFL North.
