It looks like the Cleveland Browns would definitely have a listen at parting ways with Odell Beckham Jr, but it would take a lot for them to even think about it.
Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN reported on Monday that the franchise would consider moving the standout WR if they were “blown away” by a trade offer.
The Cleveland Browns acquired Odell in a mega trade with the New York Giants just last offseason, while sending Jabrill Peppers and a first- and third-round pick back to them. The team would likely want similar compensation to get Odell off the team.
Speculation about Beckham’s future ran rampant during the 2019 season as reports told a story of him telling opposing coaches and players to “get me out of here.”
Beckham later denied those reports.
“It is old. I am not going anywhere. I will be here,” Beckham told reporters in December. “We are going to figure this thing out. It is just too special to leave. The Steelers [report], I heard that (WR) Jarvis (Landry) wanted to go to the Cardinals. All these people, it is just easy to talk about and it is cop out. It is an easy thing to do and cause a little controversy and a little friction.
“I feel like in my experiences in the league and going through the troubles that I did, I can now see how those stories…For me, it is never going to affect me, but then it is like, does it cause a little friction between you and a teammate who does not necessarily know what it is you are thinking? It is just done. It is time to just put it to bed. I am going to be here. There is nothing more to talk about.”
