Hue Jackson was not only applauding Brian Flores’ efforts to battle systemic racism in the NFL and exposing bad practices by the Dolphins owner, he joined in with a story of his won. Flores filed a class action suit against the NFL and New York Giants, among other teams, alleging violation of the integrity of the Rooney Rule.
Flores also claimed Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross offered him as much as $100,000 to lose games in 2019 for better draft positioning, better known as tanking.
Jackson made similar claims against the Cleveland Browns and owner Jimmy Haslam, an organization he once coached….very badly.
Kimberly Diemert, who is the executive director of the Hue Jackson Foundation, claimed the Browns made a similar offer to Jackson when he was the head coach in Cleveland, tweeting that “we have records that will help” Flores’ case.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam saw Jackson’s latest comments and had a message for his former coach, via Knoxville News Sentinel:
“Hue Jackson has never ever accepted any responsibility for our record during that time period,” Haslam said in an exclusive interview. “He’s been masterful at pointing fingers but has never accepted any blame. I have accepted a ton of blame, and rightfully so.
“There are a lot of things I could’ve done better. Hue has never accepted blame for one thing.”
According to Yahoo’s Charles Robinson, Jackson may join Flores in that battle.
Cleveland’s franchise has responded to Jackson’s claims.
Per Robinson, “two sources close to [Hue Jackson] said Wednesday that Jackson has made arrangements to speak with Flores’ attorneys as early as today.”
“The recent comments by Hue Jackson and his representatives relating to his tenure as our head coach are completely fabricated,” the Browns said in a statement. “Any accusation that any member of our organization was incentivized to deliberately lose games is categorically false.”
Jackson, who took the lead role in Cleveland in 2016, departed just over two years later with a record of 3-36-1 that included an 0-16 season in 2017.
