The Cleveland Browns had a minor scare during practice, with star defensive players Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward leaving Monday’s practice with injury.
Fortunately, both players appear to have avoided serious injuries.
Per Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Garrett and Ward left the Browns’ joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles within five minutes of each other. Jones was told by sources that both “will be fine” and that Garrett was taking out as a “precautionary” after getting hit in the leg.
The Browns played their second preseason game against the Washington Commanders on Friday, losing 17-15. They’ll finish out the preseason with games against the Philadelphia Eagles (this Thursday) and defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (Aug. 26).
Coming off a second straight disappointing losing season, the Browns will try to start the season off on a strong note when they welcome Joe Burrow and the inner-state rival Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 10.
