Baker Mayfield wanted to be a Cleveland Brown, but the team apparently had other ideas. Now, after feeling disrespected by the Browns throughout their entire pursuit of Deshaun Watson, Baker now wants out of Cleveland…
And once again, the Browns look to have other ideas.
Moments ago, it was reported by several outlets that Baker Mayfield had requested a trade from the Browns.
And it didn’t take long for him to get his answer. According to Cleveland Browns insider Jake Trotter, the Browns have responded to Mayfield’s request by saying they have no intentions of accommodating it.
It is me, or does it seem like the Browns are content with doing whatever Baker Mayfield doesn’t want them to do at this point.

Regardless of what Cleveland might tell us, this relationship is clearly fractured beyond repair. Baker may not be the best quarterback in the league…or even the 15th best. But he has brought the Browns more success than the’ve seen in decades. And he’s left it all on the field time and time again, no doubt, constantly playing through injuries and giving it his all for the only NFL team he’s ever known.
Despite all of that, Baker clearly feels unwanted in Cleveland. And who can blame him? Whether they’ll grant him his request remains to be seen, but at the moment it looks like things could get uglier before they get better.
