Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins remains one of the top names available on the trade market. A new report indicates that one widely- rumored team as a potential landing spot will not be making a play for the 30-year-old.
A fan asked Josina Anderson of CBS Sports about the possibility of Hopkins going to the Cleveland Browns. According to Anderson, the Browns “are not among the teams” trying to acquire the five-time Pro Bowler.
The Browns made a big trade on Wednesday afternoon, acquiring wideout Elijah Moore and the No. 74 pick in exchange for the No. 42 selection. Whether or not they’re interested in adding more receiving help via trade or free agency ahead of the draft remains to be seen.
With Moore now in the fold, the Browns have more support for Pro Bowlers in running back Nick Chubb and wide receiver Amari Cooper plus 2022 breakout WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, who racked up 61 receptions for 839 yards and three touchdowns.
Hopkins has been linked to a plethora of teams over the last couple of months, including the New England Patriots (Bill Belichick is a well-known fan of Hopkins), Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.
Hopkins was limited to nine games last season with injuries and suspension (six games for violating the NFL’s PEDs policy), but he still finished with 64 receptions for 717 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
