The 2023 Cleveland Browns have the second-best record in the AFC, but because of the playoff format, they’ll enter the playoffs no higher than the fifth seed in the conference.
That means that the team has nothing to play for in Week 18.
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Wednesday that newly-signed Jeff Driskel will start at quarterback in Sunday’s regular-season finale in Cincinnati instead of Joe Flacco.
Driskel signed off of the Cardinals’ practice squad last week when Dorian Thompson-Robinson was placed on injured reserve. He has made 11 other starts over the course of his NFL career.
Stefanski added that the team won’t be able to rest all of their regulars for the Bengals game, but did not specify other players who are going to get the day off.
For his career, Driskel has amassed 2,228 passing yards with 14 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 384 yards and three scores.

He will be the fifth starting quarterback for the Browns this season joining Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, P.J. Walker, and Joe Flacco.
It is amazing that this team was able to win 11 games with so much adversity.
