A favorite has emerged to replace Josh McDaniels as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders following his firing this Wednesday.
The team will conduct a thorough search for a permanent HC at the end of the season, having appointed linebackers coach Antonio Pierce as a stand-in for the next nine games. In the meantime, SportsBetting.ag has a 5/1 favorite to take over in 2024, having also attached odds to Pierce himself (H/T TMSPN.com).
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh happens to be the top choice at the aforementioned odds, with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and Miami Dolphins OC Frank Smith in behind at 7/1 and 8/1 respectively. Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns defensive coordinators Dan Quinn and Jim Schwartz complete the top five, both at 9/1.
You can see the top 10 favorite candidates right below:
Jim Harbaugh 5/1
Ben Johnson 7/1
Frank Smith 8/1
Dan Quinn 9/1
Jim Schwartz 9/1
Kellen Moore 10/1
Antonio Pierce 12/1
Brian Flores 12/1
Brian Johnson 12/1
Ejiro Evero 12/1
Harbaugh being the top choice is interesting. The Wolverines head coach has a good thing going in the NCAA as he’s led his team to 12-2 and 13-1 finishes over the past two seasons.

However, he is currently under intense scrutiny as the university is being investigated for sign-stealing and could consider a return to the NFL if he ends up getting penalized.
It’s also been reported that Raiders owner Mark Davis is “intrigued” by the possibility of hiring Harbaugh. But only time will tell.
