Ohio State football had plenty of great moments in 2022. Despite a disappointing finish while losing to Michigan and then falling just short against Georgia in the Peach Bowl – Ohio State haven’t really been too devastated by player departures.
A number of draft-eligible players have decided to stick around to their fourth or even fifth years with the team. One name that hasn’t declared yet is QB CJ Stroud.
There are now heavy rumors that he is being offered millions to stay at Ohio State and forego heading to the NFL Draft this year.
If the team could get C.J. Stroud back, they would likely be the favorites to win the national title in 2023. Stroud played well enough in his two seasons as a Buckeye starter to be a Heisman Trophy finalist each year.
He was certainly not the reason the team lost to Georgia as he finished the game 23-of-34 passing for 348 yards. He led five scoring drives, including tossing four touchdown passes.

However, everybody is expecting him to enter the draft. Him not declaring yet has left the door open to a possible return that would shake up the college season as well as the draft.
