There are three rookie quarterbacks making their NFL debuts today during week 1 on the 2023 NFL season. One of them is Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud, and he did something that you don’t see every day.
On the Texans’ first offensive drive of the game against the Baltimore Ravens, the second overall pick completed his first career pass…to himself!
You’d think this would be an NFL first, but it’s not. Surprisingly, Brett Favre did the same thing on his first career completion.
If Stroud can go on to have a similar career to Favre, I think he and the Texans would be awfully happy wit that.
As for the remainder of the Texans’ first drive, they would turn the ball over on downs after Stroud was sacked on fourth down.
