Ezekiel Elliott listed Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and the Jets as his preferred destinations on Thursday.
On Friday’s edition of NFL Live, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler noted the Bengals “are looming large” when he discusses Ezekiel Elliott’s landing spot around the league.
“People around the league believe the Bengals here could be looming large. I’m told they are looking to add a running back in either free agency or the draft,” Fowler said on NFL Live. “Either to pair with Joe Mixon or if they were to move on from Mixon they could save nearly $8 million against the cap.”
Fowler said Elliott would give the Bengals a “power option” for their running game.
At this point of his career, Elliot would likely fill the Samaje Perine role as a third-down running back option and solid pass protector for Joe Burrow. PFF noted Elliott was one of the top-10 players at his position in terms of pass protection efficiency last season.
Elliott might not be an elite running back anymore, but he still poured in 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
